Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 was born in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox went to Lennox's Royal Academy of Music, London in the 1970s. She studied the harpsichord as well as the flute for three whole years. Lennox was paid a stipend and did part-time jobs in order to make ends meet. Lennox believed that her abilities were inferior to those of those of her Royal Academy classmates. So she considered other routes she could choose. Lennox played flute in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. The group did not be able to make it onto the talent show New Faces on I.T.V. From 1977 until 1980, she was the lead voice of The Tourists, a British Pop band. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later be part of Eurythmics. Lennox began work on her debut solo album Diva in the year 1992. Both commercially as well as critically it was a massive achievement. Nostalgia Lennoxs Six solo album, released in October 2014 included Nostalgia Lennox. This C.D. The C.D. is composed of Lennox's favorite blues, jazz and soul songs of her childhood. In addition in May 2019 Lennox released Lepidoptera an album of four piano tracks that she improvised. This E.P. This album also serves as a companion to her Now I Let the door open... artwork that was exhibited at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The album is her debut released independently. Later, with Dave Stewart and other musicians she became the Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo career in 1992, with the release of her debut album Diva that featured a number of successful songs such as Why and Walking through the Broken Glass. Medusa is her album of studio work from 1995. It features cover versions of songs like No MoreI I Love Yous and The Whiter Shade of Pale. Six studio albums by her solo, and one compilation album, are to her credit.
