Her childhood was a turbulent one. As a toddler the mother of her fled from an unfaithful relationship. Then she returned to Pickler's life in 1995 and was given custody of her. It did not work out very well. At the age of 12, Pickler was 12, the court returned her to her maternal grandparents which raised her to adulthood. Pickler had to take care of her kids without parents. She admitted that she didn't find time to attend classes and started how to be a homemaker from an early age. Pickler was a cheerleader in her middle and high schools. North Stanly High School, which she attended from 2004 when she graduated is her school of choice.
